DGA = OSCAR (Unless Your Film Is In French)

The Directors Guild of America announced their nominees for feature film directing in 2007. The Coen brothers (No Country for Old Men) and Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood) continued their domination of the year end awards by garnering nominations. The three looking to upset them are Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton), Sean Penn (Into the Wild), and Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly). The DGA nominees have traditionally been one of the most accurate Oscar predictors so it seems very likely that these five will be the same nominees by the Academy. It also seems likely that their films will be the Best Picture nominees, although it seems more likely that Juno will bump out The Diving Bell and the Butterfly when it comes to the big category.

The Diving-Bell and the Butterfly does seem like the most likely to get bumped out for the Oscars. Not enough people have even had the chance to see it, IMO.
