"the death of an actor is always an occasion for both mourning and celebration. We mourn the loss of performances not yet given, and we celebrate the great performances that have been preserved on film."
It seems so unappropriate to speak of celebration, although I know what he means... But an unfortunate statement nevertheless. And what we "mourn" mostly in any case is a guy who died, not the movies he hasn't made...

I agree with Marc and Andrei. Speaking from a film fan's perspective, actors that we admire and follow seem almost like distant cousins. They have that illusion that you know them but not personally. So in a sense, for fans it feels like we lost a member of the family. It's heartbreaking that such a good guy died. And I'm thinking less about his films or would-be films, although films is how we met him originally. I hope he rests in peace.

Yeah, you acted like a communist and censored my post. What bothered you? Your too mediocre to publish posts made by people who don't have the same opinion as you do. It's a shame. Anyway a lot of users and my friends saw my comment in a couple of hours so you're stupid if you think you can destroy free speech. I personally love allmovie. It's a great site but I can't agree with mercantile thoughts even if they came from film critics. A man is a man before being an actor. Mr. Seibert you're a shame to this site. A good critic but a miserable man.

Hey, I didn't know the guy, people die all the time, I'm not sad that he died because I knew him, I absolutley agree with Seilbert, I'm just sad because he had so much unrealised talent, and I'm not just saying that because he died, I've always been a Heath Ledger fan, but I didn't know the guy

Just a little correction: the name of Heath's character in Brokeback Mountain wasn't "Ennis Del Ray", but "Ennis del Mar". Thanks.
