I know this particular canned scream is dragged out a lot for the dodgier brand of cheap B-grade action film, but as far as I know, it hasn't been appropriately christened yet. I remember hearing it in Empire Strikes Back when Luke falls down the shaft at the end, they removed it for the special edition, and in the Star Wars PC game Dark Forces whenever someone fell off a cliff. They did that to a lot of Doom II effects, like the hydraulic door opening sound which has been used in almost every sci-fi movie since 1994.
