The 2007 AMG Awards
February 22nd, 2008 | 4:21 pm est |
Every year when the Academy Awards roll around, the hardworking staff of the All Movie Guide gets together to nominate and vote on its own version of the best films of the previous 12 months. Well, at least you people didn’t overlooked “Zodiac”… what a great film.
“Best Looking Film” - Amen. That’s 90% of why I’ll go to a movie in the theaters. Nice work.
I think this is the first time I see Gordon Pinsent in a list of the best actors of last year, Great!! …But Michael Cera? he was… alright… I would like to change him for Sam Riley. …Well, the best performance won in that category anyways.
“Juno” is the most overrated piece of garbage this year and shouldn’t be considered for any awards.
Very courageous guys. “Juno” and “There Will Be Blood”? That’s really digging deep and challenging the Academy/studios. And you dare call “300″ overrated? Wow. Who knew it was highly rated…
No list is correct without Ryan Gosling and “Lars and the Real Girl.” Ties for Best Picture with “Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead.” Casey Affleck in “Gone Baby Gone.”
Overlooked? “Rocket Science.” Beat “Juno” to the screen, and better, too.
Just watched “There Will Be Blood” last night. Hugely overrated. Decent, but not great.
Great list… who cares if There Will Be Blood and Juno have had praise showered upon them? They were well crafted, fresh and invigorating. The academy awards would have been a lot better with this list.
No Country’s simplicity is mistaken for deep meaning, I think. Good film, but very by-the-book.
