Quote: "Having recently had the opportunity to view the alternate theatrical version of the film included in Warner Brothers Home Video’s upcoming two-disc special edition of the film," End quote.
Did the writer notice he uses the phrase "of the film" twice in the same sentence?
I read this whole article and still don't know what he's trying to say.

Chuck: Fixed... that's what I get for rushing to get this posted before I leave work on a Friday afternoon. As for not understanding what I'm trying to say, you might read the original story in order to better appreciate how far nearly every adaptation (save for The Last Man on Earth) has strayed from the source material.

As for Rafael's comment, the only difference I noticed between this version and the theatrical version was the alternate ending.

If you haven't read the book then you can't possibly understand why this film version of the story is such a disappointment. Although the film did manage to maintain the creepy concept of the last man on earth it lost the basic jolting realization that the man who had his family taken from him by an uncontrollable element somehow ends up being the murderer. I saw the film before I read the book so I didn't have the ability to compare the two during viewing but I still felt like there was something missing. Some realization or underlying point that was left out. After reading the book I knew what that was. To understand you have to read the book. It is a quick and easy read which is definitely worth the time.

Will Smith did an admirable good job carrying the movie; it's gotta take courage to take on a movie like this, where you're the only one on the screen for 90% of the time. there were some interesting moral implications to this flick as well.
